The project seeks to foster junior scholars, from graduate students to untenured professors by spotlighting their work, providing feedback with an eye to publication, and helping them develop connections with senior scholars, the meeting encourages sustained attention to the political economy of climate change.
Held May 14 and 15, the event featured seven panel discussions – four on the first day and three on the second – with scholars from all around the country. The panels included the following:

- Politics of adaptation
- Policy feedback and backlash
- Firms and state-business relations
- State institutions and state capacity
- International organizations
- Donors, recipients, and geoeconomics
