Professor Suresh Naidu will moderate the July 20 event "Economic Development in Palestine," which features four panelists discussing the economic development issues in Palestine.
The panel will also address the question, What does the ongoing occupation and violence do to the local political economy?
Naidu is a faculty co-director for the Center for Political Economy and the Jack Wang and Echo Ren Professor of Economics and Professor of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University.
The panel includes the following:
- Sameera Awawda is an associate professor of Health Economics at the Economics Department, Birzeit University, Palestine;
- Belal Fallah is an associate professor of Economics at College of Administrative Sciences and Informatics, Palestine Polytechnic University;
- Raja Khalidi was the director general of the Palestine Economic Policy Research Institute; and
- Rabeh Morrar is an associate professor of Economics at An-Najah National University.
