Geoffrey Heal on Discounting the Distant Future: A Critique of the EPA’s Analysis of the Social Cost of Carbon

Columbia's Global Center on Energy Policy published an opinion piece June 6, 2023, by Geoffrey Heal titled, "Discounting the Distant Future: A Critique of the EPA’s Analysis of the Social Cost of Carbon."

The center is part of the University's School for International Affairs and Public Affairs. Heal, an advisory board member for the Center for Political Economy, is the Donald C. Waite III Professor of Social Enterprise at Columbia Business School and chairs Faculty Advisory Committee for the Global Center on Energy Policy.

Heal co-authored the piece with colleagues Antony Milner, associate professor in the Department of Economics at the University of California, Santa Barbara; and Noah Kaufman, a senior research scholar at the Global Center on Energy Policy.
