Alex Hertel-Fernandez spent the days after the end of spring term helping lead the Consortium on American Political Economy's sixth annual Summer Academy held at the University of California, Berkeley. The academy is designed to introduce the consortium’s distinct American political economy framework to advanced graduate students and junior faculty interested in the approach. It’s also an opportunity for participants to share works-in-progress and get feedback on research designs or proposals.
Hertel-Fernandez is an associate professor at Columbia’s School of International and Public Affairs and a faculty lead of the Work and Labor Idea Lab at Columbia’s Center for Political Economy. .
